Dodge Charger 2025: Is a Convertible Version in the Works?

2025-01-03

The arrival of the new generation Dodge Charger brings renewed hopes for a convertible version. In case you didn’t know, the previous-generation Charger and Challenger were never offered as factory-built convertibles.

If you’ve ever seen a Dodge Charger or Challenger without a roof, you weren’t imagining things—some American companies offer to convert hardtop models into convertibles. Unfortunately, this option has never been available directly from Stellantis or its predecessor, FCA.

A Ray of Hope

The new generation Dodge Charger has undergone many changes. The V8 engine is no longer part of the lineup, and an electric version is expected to join the range soon. With all these changes, enthusiasts are hopeful that a convertible might also become a reality. Unfortunately, no convertible version has been officially mentioned for the new generation Charger so far.

However, images of a 2025 Dodge Charger convertible have been making rounds online this week. Unfortunately, these images were not released by Stellantis but rather by Drop Top Customs, an American company specializing in convertible conversions. Notably, this is the same company that Stellantis officially partnered with to offer convertible versions of the final Challenger models through its dealer network.

To make things even more intriguing, Drop Top Customs didn’t just pick any 2025 Charger for its first conversion—they chose the 100% electric Daytona version. This decision is likely to make the model even more desirable among collectors.

How to Get One

If you own a 2025 Dodge Charger and want to transform it into a convertible, you can contact Drop Top Customs. However, the process is quite expensive. The conversion costs approximately $30,000—a significant investment even for a car like the Charger.

Still, many owners are likely to consider this option unless Stellantis eventually responds to the demand by offering a factory-built convertible version of the new Charger.
